Are you the first in your family to go to college?  There are many things for you to consider as you walk through the process of applying to colleges and work on the best way to explain things to mom and dad.  Your parents might not understand the American college application process or system because it might be very different from their home country’s system. You may have to translate some of the concepts into your parent’s first language.  You may feel pressure to get into that ‘perfect’ school.  You may be afraid to disappoint your parents.  Many of those feelings are normal and you are not alone.  Let’s work together to make sure that mom and dad are comfortable with all that we are talking about in our meetings.
